The newly appointed coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has been unveiled.

He was unveiled on Monday at the media conference room of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

Chelle’s appointment was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, last week Tuesday.

The former Mali international is the 42nd substantive head coach of the Super Eagles.

The 47-year-old has been tasked with reviving Nigeria‘s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes.

The Super Eagles are yet to record a win in the qualifiers and sit in fifth position in Group C with three points from four games.

Chelle will lead the home-based Super Eagles at the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.

Recall that his appointment was greeted with widespread resistance and criticism by Nigerian football fans and pundits.
