Nigeria’s leading commercial bank, Access Bank, has announced that customers can now transact online, withdraw cash at Automated Teller Machines, ATMs, and make Point of Sale, POS payments with its ATM cards, following a service disruption on Sunday.
Access Bank disclosed this in a statement on Sunday after hours of banking service disruptions over the weekend.
According to the bank, the service disruptions have now been resolved.
“Your Access Bank cards are back in action. You can now transact online, withdraw cash from ATMs, and make POS payments with ease! Thank you for your patience,” the bank stated in a brief message on X on Sunday night.
Earlier on Sunday, Access Bank customers took to X to express their frustrations over the bank’s service issues.
The bank had previously announced that there would be a temporary banking service disruption on Sunday, from 3 am to 2 pm, due to a banking system upgrade.
However, hours after the announced time, the service disruption persisted, prompting Nigerians to voice their displeasure on X on Sunday.

Sleep’s Role in Enhancing Muscle Repair and Growth
The Impact of Sleep On Muscle Recovery And Growth
Sleep is often overlooked as a critical factor in muscle recovery and growth, but its role is more
significant than many people realize. From aiding in muscle repair to
facilitating the growth of muscle tissue, sleep plays a pivotal role in supporting your fitness goals.
How Sleep Impacts Muscle Recovery and Growth
Sleep is essential for muscle recovery because it’s during this
rest period that your body repairs and rebuilds muscles.
When you exercise, microscopic tears occur in your muscle fibers, and
during sleep, your body releases growth hormones like HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and GH (Growth
Hormone), which help in muscle repair and regeneration.
Quality of Sleep and Its Impact on Muscle Recovery
While quantity is important, the quality of sleep also matters significantly.
Deep sleep, characterized by REM cycles, promotes protein synthesis, which is crucial for muscle growth.
Poor sleep quality can impair recovery, reduce muscle protein synthesis, and lead
to delayed muscle repair.
How Sleep Enhances Muscle Growth
Sleep not only helps in repairing muscles but also in growing them.
During sleep, particularly REM sleep, your body experiences a surge in HGH and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), both
of which are essential for muscle hypertrophy. This anabolic environment promotes the growth of muscle fibers.
Sleep and Muscle Performance
Chronic sleep deprivation can have a detrimental
effect on muscle performance. Sleep-deprived individuals often experience reduced
strength, endurance, and muscle recovery
time. Regular sleep ensures that your body is ready to perform at its best, both during
workouts and daily activities.
