Naira appreciated against the dollar to end on positive note at the official foreign exchange market on Friday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s exchange rate data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,492.49 per dollar on Friday from N1,499.07 recorded on Thursday.

Accordingly, this showed that the Naira appreciated by N6.58 per dollar on Friday compared to the N1,499.07 exchange rate on Thursday.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira continued its depreciation against the dollar.

According to a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, Abubakar Alhasan, the Naira fell to N1,505 against the dollar on Friday from N1,500 recorded on Wednesday.

In the week under review, we reported that the Naira experienced mixed sentiments of losses and gains across FX markets.

At the official FX market, the Naira rose to N8.24 on a week-on-week basis when compared to N1500.07 per dollar recorded on Friday, 21st, 2025.

In contrast, at the black market, the naira remained unchanged on a week-on-week basis.
